The museum has two cafeterias and one restaurant which offers traditional Norwegian food.



Borgstua is the museum's cafeteria inside the main building of the museum. Come in for a nice meal in beautiful surroundings. 

Borgstua's opening hours are the same as in the museum:

Summer season (1. June - 31. august):
Every day: 10.00-17.00

Low season (1. september  -31. mai):
Monday: Closed
Tuesday-Friday: 10-15
Saturday and Sunday: 12-16


Café Erichsen

The cafeteria served and sold pasteries and cakes through 151 years in Nordre gate in the city centre of Trondheim, before it closed down in 2007. We have recreated the famous cafeteria in the museums old city department. The cafeteria is not a true copy of the original from Nordre gate, but; With help from authentic interior and the most popular signature dishes, we have recreated some of the atmosphere, as many remembers it.

The history of the restaurant Tavern goes back to the 1700s. A visit to this restaurant is a must if you want to experience traditional Norwegian food in a unique atmosphere.

Sunday: 14-19
